Emoji used to exist as general text symbols. Through emoji version, it began to be defined by Unicode, which improves interoperability of emoji between vendors, and define a means of supporting multiple skin tones.

The very first Emoji Version 1.0 was released in August 2015, which corresponds to the Unicode Versions of 6.0 and 6.1. Emoji 1.0 contains all emoji symbols approved by Unicode from 2010 to 2015.
